Passivhaus Window System

Passivhaus is the world's most advanced energy efficiency standard, created by professors Bo Adamson and Wolfgang Feist. It is a type of construction or house that achieves a 75% reduction in heating and cooling needs. This is accomplished by using materials with a high degree of insulation, high-quality windows and glass, combined with proper window orientation to harness solar heat when closed and natural ventilation when opened. Additionally, measures such as sunshades to prevent overheating in summer, rigorous control of thermal bridges, airtightness to prevent unwanted infiltrations, and controlled ventilation with heat recovery are implemented.

An example of this is the Espacio Futura project.

ESPACIO FUTURA is VEKA's new architectural space, created to be a meeting point and knowledge dissemination hub within the world of windows and sustainable construction.
The carpentry has been built with VEKA high-energy efficiency profile systems, specifically SOFTLINE 82 with a SPECTRAL finish in Umbra Ultramate color. The glazing is made with triple glass of 52 mm. The windows have been installed with perimeter sealing to ensure airtightness.
Maximum energy efficiency and total environmental respect: The building consumes in a whole year what a normal Class A building consumes in a month. The energy consumption is only 10 kWh/(m2a). Environmental respect is guaranteed, with greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) during the usage stage being 5.36 KgCO2/m2/year
